A huge snowball on what looks like a plinth. I finished Toem last week, so what's this? A yeti outside his cave. And the lasting evidence you've done any of this lies with the roll of photos you've taken along the way. You travel, meet people, help them out, get a sense of each place and, crucially, move on at the end. The pictures you take might solve conundrums for the characters you meet at each stop, and each conundrum solved gives you a stamp that allows you to steadily earn a ticket to the next stop. Toem! In a grayscale newsprint world you go on a short journey with a camera, travelling from one bus stop to the next. Snaps of LFT serial numbers and screenshots of train times for a trip to Margate. It's an odd kind of story, and fairly dull to an outsider, but squint and a narrative of sorts emerges. We’ll be sure to let everyone know when there’s a release date for the TOEM DLC is officially announced.Playful challenges and a warm sense of place and character converge in this cheerful modern classic. If you haven’t gone yet TOEM, then it should be noted that it’s currently available as one of September’s PlayStation Plus Essential releases for PS5. With six new music tracks, 20 new quests, and 20 new compendium creatures to track down, Something We Made predicts that a good couple of hours of new adventures await all visitors to Basto. Basto is an amalgamation of some of the ideas that didn’t make the cut for the initial release, and will feature new puzzles, characters, and even an entirely new camera accessory: The Water Popper.
